Merrimack Firearms offers several courses including basic gun handling, personal protection, safety, Mass LTC, Concealed Carry, and common sense with firearms. Upcoming Classes
Basic Handgun Safety Class.
The Basic Handgun Safety class is a four-hour, entry-level course designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and operation of the semi-automatic pistol and revolver. This course includes classroom and range time. Students will learn the rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition types; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, Gun Safety Rules brochure and course completion certificate.
Basic Handgun Clinic.
The basic handgun clinic is a 4-hour clinic designed to reinforce the skills learned in the Basic Handgun Safety Class. Class will consist of approximately 1.5 hours of classroom time and 2.5 hours of range time. Students will learn shooting drills designed to reinforce marksmanship fundamentals, instill safe gun handling and introduce students to defensive shooting. The idea is to build a solid shooting foundation and establish good practice habits for future development. Students must have already taken the Basic Handgun Course or similar firearms safety course. Students must supply ammunition (approx. 250 rounds) and firearm.
Personal Protection in the Home.
Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students should expect to shoot approximately 250 rounds of ammunition (supplied by the student). The Basic Handgun Clinic is a great primer for this course.
Personal Protection Outside the Home.
The Personal Protection Outside The Home Course is an advanced, two-part course teaching students the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home.
Intermediate Handgun Clinic.
Take the skills learned in the Personal Protection in the Home Course further with an introduction to holster skills and defensive shooting drills.
Advanced Handgun Clinic.
Take the skills learned in the Personal Protection Outside The Home Course to the next level with advanced, defensive shooting drills.
